Dee is the author of sixteen books for children and young adults and she has two new titles, Reena's Rainbow and K9 Heroes due for release in 2017.
She recently returned from Paris where she spent a month researching her new book, Beyond Belief.
Dee have been writing since she was seven years old, and she can’t seem to stop. If Dee goes for a couple of days without putting fingers to keyboard, she get very grumpy.
She love inhabiting the world of her characters and being able to tell their stories.
When Dee was writing Letters to Leonardo, she thinks she became Matt Hudson for a while. The book took Dee around ten years to write, 30 drafts and 1,000,000 words on paper.
WHAT CYA CONFERENCE DID FOR ME
When Letters to Leonardo came third in the CYA competition young adult category in 2006, this gave me the confidence to believe in my manuscript and submit it to publishers. It was so exciting to launch Letters to Leonardo at the 2009 CYA conference.
