Bethany is a passionate author, arts teacher and advocate, and has served on various national judging panels and executive committees for nearly a decade. She has written and edited many articles, learning resources and curriculum materials, and is an experienced presenter. Bethany co-founded PERENTIE PRESS in 2025 with publisher and founder of Wombat Books, Rochelle Stephens.
PERENTIE PRESS is an independent traditional publisher of graphic novels, actively acquiring new authors and illustrators (or author/illustrators). We are interested in assessing stories for all ages, both standalone and those with series potential. We are passionate about crafting visual stories that are hopeful, that unleash imagination, inspire conversation, and that are read, over and over again. We’re not a good fit for toilet humour, graphic violence or graphic horror.

Bethany will provide verbal feedback on her assessments.
Important
Assessment sessions:
- are only available to conference, bootcamp and Writers at Sea attendees.
- may be booked before booking for the conference, but you must book for the conference by 15 May, or your session will be cancelled and not refunded.
- have a $25.00 administration charge should you decide to cancel before 15 May.
- are non-refundable if cancelled after 15 May unless we are able to resell the session.
