Caitlan has always loved books and people. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts at the Australian National University, majoring in Philosophy and English. She completed a Masters of Literature at Sydney University. She came to Curtis Brown in 2016.
Caitlan is an Associate Agent actively growing her list. She also works with Tara Wynne and Pippa Masson on their lists of wonderful clients.
Caitlan’s clients have won the Christina Stead Prize for Fiction, the Steele Rudd Award and the Josephine Ulrick National Poetry Prize and have been shortlisted for the Blake Poetry Prize and the Glenda Adams Prize for New Writing. They have been Sydney Morning Herald Best Young Novelist and won the ABC Short Story Prize.
Caitlan is drawn to literary and bookclub fiction that appeals to the intellect and the heart. She loves grounded thriller and horror. She is actively looking for stories about class and is always looking for stories which are at their core a story about love. She enjoys a wide array of non-fiction that explores what it is to be in the world.
Books Caitlan wished she’d worked on include: Trick Mirror by Jia Tolentino, Severance by Ling Ma, See What You Made Me Do by Jess Hill and anything by Max Porter.
