Laura (she/her) works as an editor at Melbourne-based publishing house Affirm Press. She has a Master’s in Creative Writing, Editing and Publishing from the University of Melbourne. She oversees managing and assessing unsolicited submissions to Affirm Press, and has also written many freelance manuscript assessments.
Laura is passionate about working on manuscripts regardless of genre and approaches manuscript assessments like a team sport, warmly and enthusiastically providing honest, constructive feedback.
Laura is looking for titles with a strong commercial focus - think the type of story that wouldn't look out of place in bookstores like QBD, Dymocks or an airport store. She is not looking for any genre or category that isn't listed on her CYA profile.
