Meredith Costain has taught Writing for Children in the Professional Writing and Editing Course at RMIT and at writers’ centres and festivals around Australia and overseas. She was an editor and writer for the Victorian Department of Education and Training’s school magazines for over 20 years, the managing editor of several literacy series, and is currently a consultant editor for Ford Street Publishing.
Meredith is also a versatile writer, with books ranging from picture books and poetry to series fiction and non-fiction. These include the quirky Ella Diaries and its sister series, Olivia’s Secret Scribbles, and picture books Doodledum Dancing and Musical Harriet.
Ford Street will be looking for well-told, character-driven stories with a strong voice.
Ford Street is not looking for board books or picture books for the very young.
